      Police Pistol Combat at the Marksmen Club is a great way to relax and enjoy the comraderie of both civilian and police competitors. This sport offers a highly competitive enviroment for those that enjoy constant improvement in their shooting skills and a relaxed enviroment for those that just like to hit the target while learning to shoot with either hand in a variety of positions. Take a moment to read the course of fire shown below and you will understand what we mean.

      Indoor PPC, or Police Pistol Combat, is a standard course of fire consisting of 60 rounds, fired in 4 stages. PPC is revolver "friendly" and may be a good way to get a newer shooter into competition.

       

       Minimum equipment required:

    • a handgun (usually a six-shot revolver of .32 calibre or above, but semi-auto's (of .35 calibre or above) are fine too)
    • a holster (must be "strong-side", no cross draw or shoulder rigs)
    • 3 speed loaders (3 is an absolute bare minimum, 4 would be better)
    • a loading tray (unless you have 10 speed loaders)
    • a bucket or tray for reloads and spent brass
    • belt mounted speed loader holders for at least three loaders
    • eye and ear protection
    • At least 60 rounds of ammunition, preferably light to mid-load wadcutters. Full metal jacket and magnum loads are specifically disallowed at most matches.

    The "600" Course of Fire.

    • Stage 1:
      7 Yards - Double Action - 12 Shots standing without support position.  Twenty Seconds, time starts with loaded gun in holster and includes reloading for the second 6 shot string.  Fired on B27R Target.
    • Stage 2:
      50 Feet - Double Action - 6 Shots kneeling; 6 shots standing, left hand with support, 6 shots standing right hand with support.  Ninety Seconds, time starts with loaded gun in holster and includes reloading.  Fired on B27R Target.
    • Stage 3: ( Target change)
      50 feet - Double Action - 6 Shots standing without support position.  Twelve Seconds, time starts with loaded gun in holster no barricade or other support is used.   Fired on B27R Target
    • Stage 4:
      50 Feet - Single or Double Action - 6 Shots sitting; 6 Shots Prone; 6 shots standing, left hand with support, 6 shots standing right hand with support.  Two Minutes and 45  Seconds, time starts with loaded gun in holster and includes reloading.  Fired on B27R Target

       

The "1500" Course of Fire:

    (This course of fire is not currently shot at the club due to length limitations but you may be shooting it for competition purposes. Smaller targets can be used to simulate the 50 yard stages)
  • Match 1:
    7 yard line, 12 rounds in 20 seconds off hand
    15 yard line, 12 rounds in 20 seconds off hand.
  • Match 2:
    25 yard line, 18 rounds in 90 seconds;   6 rounds kneeling.   6 rounds left hand barricade.  6 rounds right hand barricade
  • Match 3:
    50 yard line,   24 rounds in 2min. And 45 sec;   6 rounds sitting.   6 rounds prone.   6 rounds left hand barricade.   6 rounds right hand barricade.
  • Match 4:
    25 yard line, 2 strings off 12 rounds in 35 seconds  off hand.
  • Match 5:
    Stage 1:  7 yard line, 12 rounds in 20 seconds.
  • Stage 2:  25 yard line, 18 rounds in 90 seconds;  6 rounds kneeling  6 left hand barricade  6 right hand barricade
  • Stage 3:  50 yard line, 24 rounds in 2 min. And 45 sec.;  6 rounds sitting  6 prone  6 left hand barricade   6 right hand barricade
  • Stage 4:   25 yard line, 6 rounds in 12 seconds off hand.
